Van Shotwell
COO/Co-Founder
Van Shotwell is the COO of Launch 360 Media, Inc. where she runs and manages the daily operations of a media platform based in the Caribbean.
Ms. Shotwell has over 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry. She was a professional cheerleader for the Houston Gamblers and the Houston Oilers. She had her own performance company for over 10 years and choreographed and performed alongside her dance crew.
She was a hair stylist, talent manager and entertainment business manager and helped new actors prepare for the entertainment industry.
Ms. Shotwell handles the day-to-day operations of Shine on Humanity and with her BA in Communication she oversees all media.
Ms. Shotwell is invaluable to the organization. Her wisdom and insight into the needs of others is quite remarkable.
Van Shotwell is a proud graduate of the University of Houston – Clear Lake where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Communication.
Jimmie Wheeler
CEO/Co-Founder
Mr. Wheeler is the CEO of Cherokee Black Entertainment, Inc. and is a former investment banker/investment adviser on Wall Street.
Mr. Wheeler helped orchestrate numerous monumental mergers, acquisitions and leverage buyouts in the oil, gas, entertainment, banking, real estate and gaming (casino) industry from the 1980's through 2000's.
He has worked with many unknown then successful, athletes and entertainers. He has been fortunate to collaborate with Larry Holmes, Evander Holyfield and many more professional boxers in the industry.
In the music industry, he worked and collaborated with artists such as: Sammy Davis Jr., Jay Z, Destiny's Child and other entertainers.
We are very fortunate to have Mr. Wheeler as the CEO of Shine On Humanity.
Rick Diaz
Advisory Board Member
Rick is a co-founder of Joseph Duval, an Alternative Investment and Management Advisory firm headquartered in Texas. In December 2020, he assumed the role of Sr. Partner, and in January 2021, he joined the Board of Advisors for Joseph Duval. Rick manages projects, portfolios, and investment opportunities for the firm. Rick has more than 30 years of experience in the finance industry. He joined Joseph Duval in 2018 from Duke & Sterling, a personal business management firm for entertainers, where he was the Chief Executive Officer from 2014 to 2017. Before his role at Duke & Sterling, he was a partner at DKM Capital Management, LLC, a private equity broker in Houston. Before joining DKM Capital Management, he served in various roles at market-leading companies, including AIG (NYSE: AIG) and AIG Life of Bermuda, specializing in alternative risk insurance and private placement insurance. In 2015, he was a guest lecturer at Lone Star College-Kingwood. Today, he continues to teach and lecture as an adjunct professor of management and finance at Lonestar College-Kingwood. Rick served as an Air Support Operator in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1986 to 1990 in various duty stations in the United States including Camp Pendleton, California, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, and Houston, TX. Rick is a Ph.D. student in Organizational Management and Leadership at Liberty University, Graduate School of Business (anticipated 2025). He was awarded an MBA in management and finance from University of St. Thomas, Cameron School of Business (2006), and a BA in psychology and cultural anthropology from The University of Texas at Austin (1998). In the summer of 1994, Rick attended Rice University and Baylor College of Medicine, where he studied technical writing and molecular genetic pathology. Rick also serves on the board of his family’s scholarship foundation; The Diaz Family Foundation Scholarship. He has served on Boards of Directors for Houston Works USA, the Gulf Coast Film Festival, and University of St. Thomas Alumni Association. Rick is an Ambassador Emeritus of Lonestar College, a member of Texas Ex’s, University of St. Thomas Alumni Association, American Association of University Professors, Adam Smith Society, and the Marine Corps Foundation and Association.
Dr. Susan J Eddington

Dr. Susan J. Eddington, a Media Psychology scholar/practitioner, is an award-winning communications strategist, accredited public relations counselor, and management consultant with more than 30 years’ experience in developing evidence-based strategies for issues management. With a focus on inter-group relations, Dr. Eddington has designed strategy and programs to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion for governmental, political, private sector and non-profit organizations. As president of IMAGES-IMAGES, she leads a multi-disciplinary collective that conducts research, develops immersive strategy, and produces content for all media platforms to promote pro-social behavior. Her research and practice include issues pertaining to media representations, media effects, media literacy, inter-group relations, diversity, equity, and inclusion for marginalized constituencies, gender empowerment, citizen engagement, collective agency, and adoption of sustainable practices. Dr. Eddington has developed communications strategy and served as a candidate surrogate and official spokesperson for three winning U.S. presidential campaigns. She has developed communications strategy and training for candidates seeking to build meaningful engagement with African American voters for congressional, senatorial, and gubernatorial campaigns. A fierce advocate for climate justice and a more sustainable future, Dr. Eddington has conducted environmental education efforts for elected officials across the US. She is currently developing a multi-platform media campaign to address issues pertaining to post disaster recovery and resilience.
